Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist have been assisting priests and deacons with the distribution of Holy Communion at liturgical services since 1978. At Saint James, Eucharistic Ministers assist at the Saturday 5:30pm, Sunday 7:30am, 9am, 10:30am and 12 noon Masses, as well as the 7:00am and 8:00am daily and Holy Day Masses. They also bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound within the parish boundaries, as directed by the Pastor. This ministry is open to Catholic men and women who have been parishioners of Saint James Church for at least one year. Selected and appointed by the Pastor, Eucharistic Ministers are mandated by the Bishop for a period of two years. Attendance at an annual re-commitment meeting is required.
