The Eucharist

“The Eucharist, in the Mass and outside of the Mass, is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, and is therefore deserving of the worship that is given to the living God, and to Him alone ... “[The presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is] Real Presence in the fullest sense; the substantial presence by which the whole and complete Christ, God and man, is present” (Pope John Paul II, 29 September 1979).

O Sacred Banquet

O Sacred Banquet in which Christ becomes our food: the memory of his passion is celebrated, the soul is filled with grace, and a pledge of future is given to us.

V. You gave them bread from heaven to be their food.

R. And this bread contained all goodness.

Let us pray

Lord Jesus Christ you gave us the Eucharist as the memorial of our suffering and death, May our worship of this sacrament of your body and blood help us to experience the salvation you won for us and the peace of the kingdom where you live with the Father and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever.   Amen.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are in the Blessed Sacrament.  I love you above all things, and I long for you in my soul.  Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.  As though you have already come, I embrace you and unite myself entirely to you; never permit me to be separated from you.  Amen.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me;

Body of Christ, save me;

Blood of Christ, inebriate me;

Water from the side of Christ, wash me;

Passion of Christ, strengthen me;

O good Jesus, hear me;

Within your words hide me;

Separated from you, let me never be;

From the evil one protect me;

At the hour of my death, call me;

And close to you bid me;

That with your saints, I may be

Praising you forever and ever.  Amen.
