Prayer to the Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit, bestow upon all of us who are discerning our vocations, your holy gifts. 

Enlighten our understanding that we may know you. 

Give us wisdom that your will may be clear to us. 

Grant us the gift of counsel that we may always perceive what is right. 

Inspire us with the spirit of learning (knowledge) that we may penetrate more deeply into your truth. 

Give us the spirit of piety and the fear of the Lord, so that we may revere you and, should we fail, we may quickly repent and revere you in all we do, think or say.  

Fortify us and give us the courage to answer your call to the priesthood, religious life or lay service.  Look with compassion upon us, O Holy Spirit, and grant us the favor we seek in this novena request. Amen.
