SAINT JAMES CHURCH
SUPPORT OF SACRED HEART CHURCH
OUR ADOPTED PARISH IN NEW BRUNSWICK

St. James parishioners are encouraged to offer their support for the various volunteer projects undertaken each year to support our adopted “sister parish,” Sacred Heart in New Brunswick.  Volunteers and a chairperson are needed for each project.  If you are interested in getting involved or chairing a project please contact the coordinator, Cathy Homan at 908-696-8976 or cathy_homan@yahoo.com.

                                          SACRED HEART PROJECTS

1. St. James has a monthly collection for the benefit of Sacred Heart after each Mass on

the fourth Sunday of every month.

2. Prior to Thanksgiving each year an effort is organized to deliver over 100 complete,

non-perishable meals plus frozen turkeys to Sacred Heart families.  This effort

requires volunteers for organizing the donation of foods, the assemblage and pack-up

of the meals, and delivery to New Brunswick the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Signups are available after masses well in advance.

3, During the Christmas holidays 150 Sacred Heart families are adopted by St. James

families to provide Christmas presents for each family member.  Volunteers are needed to help with the organization of this effort, including signup of donors, collection of gifts and delivery to Sacred Heart in New Brunswick approximately10 days before Christmas, Signups are available after Masses well in advance.

4, For Easter, an effort is organized to collect school supplies, small toys and candy for the

assemblage of over 100 Easter baskets for delivery to Sacred Heart parish the weekend before Easter.  These baskets are handed out to needy families.  Volunteers are needed to assist with collection of ingredients, assemblage and delivery to New Brunswick.  Signups are available after masses in advance.
