St. James Parish Nurse Program

Mission Statement:

The central mission of the Parish Nurse Program is to promote well being and healthy lifestyles within the context of the guiding values, beliefs and practices within the faith and health community.

Our Goals:

Promote healing, provide comfort and care to those in need, educate the parishioners and be their advocates.

Who can participate?

We would love any nurse in the parish who can give of their time to help those in need.

What is the level of commitment?

Whatever you can give.

What would you do?
We hold free Blood Pressure screenings once a month after the masses. Twice a year we have Cholesterol/Glucose screenings with Morristown Memorial Hospital. We make weekly visits to elderly parishioners who may need some assistance in setting up services and /or spiritual comfort. We share in a network with other Parish Nurses from other churches to explore new ideas. In October, we held a beautiful Healing Mass for those suffering from illness to receive the Sacrament of the sick.

Most of all we are an energetic group of nurses who love to share our knowledge and compassion. We all have different backrounds, but together we have formed a special group. We are open to any new ideas as the program will continue to grow.
