Reverend Carmelo Villocillo was born on July 16,1964 in Sariaya, Quezon, Philippines to Carlito and Dionisia Villocillo. He is the eldest of four siblings. At the age of 11, he entered Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School Seminary in Sariaya, Quezon. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Saint Francis De Sales Major Seminary in Lipa City and received his theology degree from Saint Alphonsus Regional Seminary in Lucena City. Father Carmelo was ordained on September 9, 1989. He was first assigned as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Atimonan, Quezon, after which, he held various other assignments in the diocese, including member of the bishop’s staff and Chaplain of the Missionary Catechists of Saint Therese. Before joining Saint James Parish in March, 2010 as Parochial Vicar, Father Carmelo served as the Pastor and Rector of Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine in Dolores, Quezon. His goal is to continue his missionary work at Saint James by sharing his faith experiences. Besides his family, Father Carmelo left his five beloved dogs behind in the Philippines when he came to the United States. They were all adopted out to friends and parishioners.
