Peter J. DePrima, Jr., was born January 7, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York, the only child of Alice and Peter J. DePrima, Sr. He grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from Fort Hamilton High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Pace University. Deacon Pete also has a Masters degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Masters of Science from Stevens Institute of Technology. He received his Certificate of Diaconal Studies from the College of Saint Elizabeth and was ordained into the Permanent Diaconate on June 12, 2010.
Deacon Pete served in the Army as a Specialist 5th Class and is retired from Avaya, where he was the Director of International Network Operations. He and his wife, Regina, have three children; John, Michael, and Jessica. They have been parishioners at Saint James Church since 1981.
Deacon Pete is active in several ministries at Saint James, including Cursillo, Men of Charity, the Evangelization Council and Men of Saint James. He also visits the sick and imprisoned in Central New Jersey.
