Bereavement Support Group

CONTACT: Barbara Burger 908-580-1522 barblburg@gmail.com

The Saint James Bereavement Support Group assists the bereaved in their journey from grief to hope, providing spiritual guidance, education and emotional support for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Members reach out with compassion during the painful and lonely time that follows a significant loss. Facilitators and the bereaved meet in the fall for six consecutive weeks to discuss the grieving process and promote understanding and comfort. The bereaved are encouraged to share their stories and to fill their broken hearts with hope. The goal of the Bereavement Support Group is to ensure that no parishioner experiences grief alone.

Training is available year round through the Diocese of Metuchen or the Archdiocese of Newark at a minimal cost for anyone interested in becoming a bereavement facilitator.

Come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.  — Matthew 11:28
